Blackbreaks Live Sydney Debut will be happening Saturday 11th of August

at The Sqaure which is on George st, corner of Hay st in the City.

Special guests on the night: prog-metallers Scatterfly (www.scatterflyband.com) and punk rock wunderkinds Angels of the Tattooed Generation (www.facebook.com/aottg).

We would dearly love to see you all there,

and yes we will play all the hits and memories that Blackbreaks in its short yet humble life, have become famous for.

For a few months I had in mind a song about that feeling of alienation, that I had particularly when I was a little younger. Growing up in the suburbs or regional areas of Australia there is a great gulf between what you see presented on TV or in the movies or games, and the reality of the daily grind of school or work. Everyone seeks some way of breaking out of the patterns. Some hot-up cars. Some look for love. Some, like I did, find solace in the songs on the radio.

I came to know the concept of Social ‘Alienation’ through the writings of some sociologists. It just seems like a good way to describe that loss of connection to genuine community that you can feel, even when you are surrounded by people in a big city, or massively wired into mass-media or the internet. Live off-broadway debut! Winter Magic Katoomba

It is an awesome festival to come check out, like Newtown festival in the middle of winter, yess it is cold, and it may just snow. But it is a great day with heaps of bands.

Mixing Mixing Mixing away

Currently mixing away the first four tracks.

Darn happy with the sound so far if we may say so ourselves.

We have finished our debut photoshoot last week, with rock picture maker extrodinaire Nic Bezzina in some profoundly absurd set ups.

We will post some of this action as soon as the final images are polished up.

Best news is we appear to have locked in our debut show at a very cool community festival in June – so stay tuned for the details, once we are allowed to say..

We are currently setting up the recording of the debut Black breaks record, that will be released online – right here, in any format you so wish. Except in 78s cos they smash t0o easily. But CD, vinyl, 4 track, tape, ogg, mp3, smoke signals, and anything else – no probs. Maybe.
